When you introduce people to new, decentralized monetary systems like Human Money, it usually doesn’t take long until a very specific question arises: “But what about the elderly, the sick, and the weak? How do you help them?” This question is great. It impressively proves that we humans are empathetic by nature and want the weakest in our society to be helped. However, the way we organize and finance this help today requires urgent rethinking.

When we think of money today, we see numbers on screens, bank buildings of glass and steel, or complicated curves on the stock market. We have become accustomed to money being an artificial order – managed by huge institutions, secured by laws, monitored by authorities. Yet deep inside, many of us feel that this structure has become fragile.
